Raeghan Layne Fleming was born on September 7, 2007 at 5:02 pm. She weighed in at 7 lbs. 10 oz. and was 20 inches long...and she's an angel! We are so, so blessed and she looks forward to meeting ya'll!
I was induced at 9:00 am on Friday (started the Pitocin drip), asked for the epidural at 12:00 pm (right before they broke my water!) and was 10 cm dilated at 3:00 pm. I had to wait to push though b/c I couldn't feel my legs very much (when they first started the epidural, it wasn't strong enough and I went through transition without it...it didn't completely kick in 'til after I was already 10 cm!!...haha) b/c they'd figured out the epidural and cranked it way up. So, once it was time to push around 4:30 (ie--return of leg function and mom and baby were REALLY ready to meet each other) and the doctor arrived, Raeghan was here shortly after at 5:02 pm!
My Mom & Dad ("Grammy & ?"-Raeghan's grandparents), Gubbie & Poppy (Raeghan's great grandparents), Ma (Raeghan's great GREAT grandma!), & Drew's mom and Dad ("Gigi and ?"-Raeghan's grandparents) had to wait patiently to meet her ('til almost 6 pm) so Raeghan & I could get cleaned up and Daddy could give her her first bath/diaper change and no one really got to hold her Friday b/c she was eating ALL night long in mommy's arms!! ;) We've already started calling her a little shark because she's taken to breastfeeding so well...that she's like a little tiny baby shark when she's ready to eat!
We've had lots of sweet visitors to the hospital and now that we're back at home...and we can't thank you enough for the love and support during this new and exciting time for our lil' family of three. More to come soon!
